August 09 Very Busy July!!The Oregon Country Fair (a couple of weeks ago....) was as amazing and beautiful as ever! Kindness, love, patience and extreme creativity abound within this wonderful tribe I belong to......pranam....
Friday night at the Fair, I wandered out to the lot where the fire dancers were set to perform. I was in the front row...As the evening grew dark, a beautiful young woman came out and began the dancing. She was VERY pregnant and was doing an exotic dance to some very hip tribal-techno-mix music, with an "earth mother" theme. What made this so interesting was that she had on a metal helmet that was shooting flames out of her head about 2 feet into the night sky! (Love those "burners" out there, you guys are awesome!!)
Next was a group of about a dozen young men and women spinning fire wands, fire hand wands, flaming hoops, poi, and many other devices. The dance was beautiful, erotic, and very professional......those gorgeous young, hard-bodied men (hmmmm...), and women with tattos, piercings, and tribal clothing were WOWING the entire crowd! They were VERY entertaining.
I looked around at the crowd and for a few brief moments I felt such primitive, tribal stirrings....like going back in time a few hundred years......amazing, unforgettable experience......
