July 19 Oregon Country Fair 2009Just returned a few days ago from my annual 6-day weekend at the Oregon country Fair! Wow! this was the 40th Anniversary of the Fair, and it was memorable in many ways. Friday night (after business hours, of course....) the Fair put on an "opera/ fire dance" experience that was incredible!! 50 vocalists and five fire dance troops performed a treat for the eyes and ears: the Opera "Carmina Burana". This took place in a large meadow, way out in the woods, after dark within a beautiful outdoor operatic stage set-up. Costumes, clothing, singing and dance were spectacular!!! That same night after returning from the Opera with my friends, I went back to my booth across from Main Stage, and listened to the band "BK 3 featuring/ Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead drummer), James \"Hutch\" Huchinson & Scott Murawski ROCK OUT in the woods for the next 2 hours!!! I laid back in my sleeping bag and thought, "I love this job!"
Business was great, and people were having a wonderful time......Sunday at 11AM, just as the public was entering the gates of the Fair for the day, a large bolt of lightning and loud thunder claps fell across the fairgrounds........The beginning of an all day lightning and thunder storm!! Overwhelming in many ways, but memorable in every way! Once again, an annual rennual of my spirit and the beautiful connections that we have with eachother and the earth......Namaste' XXX
