American Politics/ What's Wrong With This Picture?This afternoon, I am going to Salem, Oregon for a political rally with Chelsea and Bill Clinton! I am a huge Hillary Clinton fan, and supporter and have proudly cast my vote for the most qualified candidate runnning, as well as the first viable female presidential candidate in US history.
What's wrong with this picture? Despite the fact that she carries the voters in the most important swing states, despite the fact that she is currently polling several points ahead of John "McSame" in the national polls: ( Clinton=47% / McSame=42%) compared to Obama (John McSame=46%/ Obama=41%), despite the fact that she has received more popular votes than any other presidential primary candidate in the history of this country, and despite the fact that neither candidate has won the delegate votes, yet, Hillary has all but been written off by the Democratic party leaders, and the press. (misogyny in action, once again???!!!!!)
As a lifelong dem who has towed the party line (and will do so again, grudgingly, and resentfully, if Obama is the nominee, simply because the platform is important to me...) I remain baffled by the infinite lack of wisdom of the party leaders. Why are you alienating the women of this party? Still the 2nd class citizens....
Obama's OK, but not great. I could site MANY, MANY flaws. He will be an easy target for "swiftboating" this fall, and our party will tank in the general election once again.......sigh...and there goes the planet......
So, against all odds, I will support the person who deserves this nomination, HILLARY CLINTON, with pride and dignity, as well as a more than little outrage at the stupidity, and sexist attitudes of the Democratic Party leaders........grow up boys...  |
